Lux Nail Bar Newstead – The Women Who Built A Nail Bar Worth Pausing For
Lux Nail Bar in Newstead, Brisbane isn’t just another place to get your nails done. It’s a considered space built by two women who have spent more than a decade each understanding what people truly need when they sit down in that chair — and then designing every detail around that feeling.
There’s a particular kind of quiet that settles over you when you walk into Lux Nail Bar Newstead. The light is warm. The pace feels unhurried. Someone hands you a drink — maybe a matcha, maybe something sparkling — and for a moment, the rest of your day softens at the edges. That atmosphere doesn’t happen by accident. It was built with intent, by two women who knew exactly what was missing from the industry before they set about creating something different.
Lux Nail Bar & Co has been quietly welcoming clients through its Newstead doors for a couple of months now — finding its rhythm, refining its rituals, letting the space speak for itself. And on 9 May 2026, it marks the occasion properly with an official grand opening celebration. But before then, it felt right to introduce the people behind it.
The Vision Behind Lux
Meet the Founder
Naomi
Founder · Lux Nail Bar & Co
Naomi has been working in the nail industry for over ten years. Long enough to have seen what goes right, and what doesn’t. Long enough to feel the gap between what clients deserve and what they’re often given. Lux Nail Bar & Co was her answer to that gap.
“I didn’t open Lux just to open another nail salon,” she says simply. “Something was missing. I wanted people to come in and actually feel something — not just get a service done and leave.”
For Naomi, that something is presence. The feeling of being genuinely looked after. A space where the experience isn’t rushed, where a consultation happens before every service, and where the little details — the drink, the atmosphere, the conversation — add up to something that stays with you.
Growing up with a deep respect for the nail industry — a profession that holds real weight and respect in many Asian communities — Naomi always saw beauty work as more than a trade. It’s a craft, a ritual, a way of caring for people. Her goal with Lux has been to honour that from the ground up.
“I want people to think of us as part of their lives,” she says. “Not just somewhere they go when their nails need doing. I want them to look forward to coming.”
Meet the ARTIST
Chloe
NAIL ARTIST & EXPERIENCE LEAD

Chloe is the kind of person who notices everything. The way a nail plate curves. The way a client holds their hand when they’re nervous. The difference between a shape that looks right and a shape that is right for someone’s fingers. After more than ten years in the industry, she’s learned that the details people don’t consciously notice are often the ones they feel most deeply.
She shares Naomi’s background, her respect for the craft, and her belief that the nail industry deserves to be taken seriously. Together, they bring a complementary energy to Lux — Naomi’s vision and warmth, Chloe’s precision and artistic sensitivity.
✦ Chloe's Notes — From the Chair ✦
“Luxury in nails is often misunderstood. People think it’s about how much you spend, or how elaborate the design is. But for me, it has always been about how a client feels — from the moment they sit down to the moment they leave.”
For Chloe, real luxury lives in the quiet, unhurried moments. The way a nail is shaped before any colour is touched. The time taken in preparation. The extra minute spent perfecting a cuticle. None of these are things clients necessarily point to — but they always feel them, even if they can’t name exactly why.
“Anyone who works in this industry properly knows that the finish you see is really the result of everything that came before it,” she says. “The preparation, the consultation, the attention. That’s what separates a nice nail appointment from a genuinely good one.”
At Lux Newstead, she’s built that philosophy into every service — not as an extra, but as the baseline.
